Guido's research interests lie in the experimental investigation of the physico-chemical behaviour of soft matter systems (including colloids, lipid membranes and fluid interfaces) and fluid flows at the micrometer length scale with an interdisciplinary approach based on his expertise in mechanics, fluid dynamics, optics, micro- and nano-technology, interface and colloid science.
GROUP MEMBERS
Amina Farooq
Dr Amina is a a postdoctoral researcher in the Particle Microfluidics Group. Her research project involves the experimental investigations into solute-driven transport of molecules and particles within nonwoven carbon (NC) membranes.
Christina Puijk
PhD Student
1st Supervisor: Guido Bolognesi
2nd Supervisor: Giorgio Volpe
Email: christina.puijk.23@ucl.ac.uk
Christina's PhD project is focussing on diffusiophoresis of colloidal particles within microfluidic devices for particle characterisation and analytical applications.
PhD Student
1st Supervisor: Guido Bolognesi
2nd Supervisor: Giorgio Volpe
Email: henry.peterson.24@ucl.ac.uk
Henry is investigating the diffusiophoresis of colloidal particles in paper-based devices and the application of this particle transport mechanism for ultrasensitive biochemical testing.
